Celebratory month at Ann’s Choice
Three special events round out ten-year anniversaryBy Jacqueline Kimball
Ann’s Choice, Erickson Living’s community in Bucks County, Pa., knows how to throw a party.
Events to celebrate the community’s decade of carefree living began in February. This month, three special occasions conclude the celebrations.
Elegant Evening, a splendid affair of convivial toasts, delectable gourmet fare, entertainment, and after-dinner dancing in all three clubhouses marked the community’s official ten-year celebration on August 1.
A triple celebration
On August 7, the Five and Ten Event welcomed new priority list members and select prospective residents to an exclusive anniversary luncheon celebrating the ten-year anniversary and also the five-year anniversaries of the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program and its coordinator, Personal Moving Consultant Colleen Rosica.
The occasion featured tours of furnished model apartment homes and seminars from Bucks County’s premier downsizing professionals.
When people join the community’s priority list, they save their place in line for a home at Ann’s Choice based on their priority list date. They also gain access to Rosica’s complimentary services, such as in-home consultations, help with staging, and referrals to a nationwide network of preferred vendors and real estate agents.
The moving assistance program represents the forward thinking Erickson Living is known for.
“This is a wonderful program that truly helps people,” says Ann’s Choice Sales Director Deborah Olcese. “I tell people Colleen is our gift to them when they join the list. Her assistance is boundless, and she’s beside them every step along the way.”
Shepherding soon-to-be residents through downsizing, selling their house, and physically moving to the lifestyle they’ve anticipated is Rosica’s passion.
“I see people who, many times, don’t know where to start,” she says. “Our program gives them the knowledge to take the first step, to start sooner rather than later.”
Residents who moved to the community more than five years ago managed largely on their own. Residents who used Rosica’s services—more than 600 over five years—moved stress-free.
During the event, some of those folks shared stories of how they benefitted from using the program.
A final hurrah
A Big D/Anniversary Event August 29 will extend the ten-year celebration and let attendees jump-start their “D”ownsizing (at presstime, this event had not yet taken place).
Hundreds of guests, including priority list members and other folks interested in the Ann’s Choice lifestyle, will gather in Keystone Clubhouse for a buffet lunch, champagne toasts, and special programs.
A ten-year pioneer resident will join Sales Counselor Marie Dmoch for the celebratory toasts.
On staff since pre-construction days, Dmoch has counseled more than 2,200 people who desire a more carefree lifestyle. “People say she’s the ‘Ann’ of Ann’s Choice,” says Olcese.
Besides open-house tours of residents’ homes and real estate and downsizing seminars from preferred vendors, local charities and a shredding company will be on hand to accept attendees’ donated household goods and shred their paper clutter.
Among other incentives, people who join the priority list that day will have their one-time, nonrefundable $150 per person application fee waived. And it will be the final opportunity to reserve a home and move in by year’s end.
