THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
It seems that everywhere you look these days the cost of living is going up. A gallon of gas costs more than $4, the rising cost of food is causing sticker shock at the grocery store check-out line, and natural gas prices mean hefty utility bills for homeowners each month.
While the cost of just about everything is rising, Sedgebrook, an Erickson retirement community in Lincolnshire, actually decided to lower the cost of its monthly service package. It will now cost residents less money to enjoy everything Sedgebrook has to offer.
Too good to be true?
The notion of something costing less than it did a year ago might seem too good to be true. That’s certainly what resident Edward Lobus thought when he heard the good news.
“I was in shock,” Lobus says with a laugh.
But Sedgebrook’s Marketing Director Paul Spence is pleased to announce that Sedgebrook found a way to make it happen. “We decided to reduce the monthly service package because we want more people to join our family of residents,” Spence says. “It wasn’t easy, but Sedgebrook and Erickson management worked hard to reduce costs while maintaining all current amenities.”
More money to fulfill your dreams
Spence says the new lower fee will enable current and future Sedgebrook residents to make the most of their hard-earned retirement dollars, because they will have more money for the things they enjoy.
“Frankly, [residents] expected an increase based on what they’ve heard in the news lately about gas and other costs,” Spence says. “The decrease means that current residents can feel assured that Sedgebrook and Erickson management have the best interest of our residents at heart.
“For future residents, it means they’re able to afford this great style of life.”
For Lobus, who moved to Sedgebrook from Atlanta, the price decrease sent a very clear message about Erickson’s values. “It shows that they really do consider us, which we appreciate,” he says.
